YWCA Tin Library conducted Yuen Long Park Festival “Your Backyard in Tin Shui Wai” as co-organisers in Jan 2022. With the contribution from the community members and artist Yumi Keung, within 4 months the project reveals the possibilities of Tin Shui Wai Park. Inspired by the phrase “not in my back yard (NIMBY)”, the curators of the festival change it to “share in my back yard (SIMBY)” and want people to contribute ideas to enhance the Tin Shui Wai Park. “Saori” embraces Japanese aesthetics of Shizen. In UABB2022, the artist and community members will reproduce the Saori work in Pier 7. Tin Library hopes to introduce the “SIMBY” concept to public and contribute ideas to enhance the Pier.
