A Local Bamboo Experiment
Date: 10.SEPT.22 - 26.NOV.22
Time: 11:00am - 8:00pm
Place: North Point (East) Ferry Pier

Bamboo is commonly found in local villages. Villagers would make bamboo products that were sold to “mountain goods” shops in the city. However, over time, these goods and local bamboo have been outcompeted and forgotten.

Can we re-establish the use of local materials and their rural-urban linkage in the present day? This installation is an experiment on local bamboo from harvesting and treatment to making. Over the course of the exhibition, the bamboo will be left to dry and gradually turn from green to yellow.
