The Hong Kong edition of the 2015 Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (the Biennale) welcomes all Hong Kongers to explore their vision of the city in which they live. Taking place from December to February in Kowloon Park and the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, the Biennale is a curated showcase of inspirational works by leading international and local creatives and design professionals. The Biennale engages in a three month cultural dialogue in Hong Kong. As platforms for discussion and contemplation, Biennales around the world have become significant cultural drivers in promoting awareness around the importance of understanding our city and facilitating a diverse platform for the exchange of knowledge, information and expertise. Looking back and to the future 35 years in Hong Kong, the rich and varied culture of our past is an important legacy and cornerstone that younger generations can build upon in growing the identity of the city. This year's theme of 'Visions 2050: Lifestyle and the Smart City' focuses on the future of Hong Kong and the intrinsic relationship between how we conduct our daily life and the physical environment around us. The vision of the younger generation is the key for creating the city of the future. Hong Kong's 2015 Biennale offers ways to achieve a more balanced relationship with nature, through design. Led by The Hong Kong Institute of Architects, and co-organised with Hong Kong Institute of Planners and The Hong Kong Designers Association, the 2015 Biennale brings together the creative industries with the wider public. It is a significant and important event for our city and we cordially invite you to participate in Hong Kong's 2015 Biennale and realise the vision of the future.
